今天的科技頭條：Apple 控告 HTC 侵犯其 20 項專利 讓人吃驚。雖然是次行動是針對 HTC ，但據專利的內容，這次的行動只是以後針對 Android 以及 Windows Mobile 平台的行動的前奏！(之前針對 Nokia 的部份專利也在今次行動中再出現)。
相信大家也很有興趣知道蘋果大鑼大鼓的宣戰下，其 20 項專利有何特別？一看之下讓人大驚，那些專利大多平凡普通，抓破頭也想不到為何美國專利局竟然會讓人得到這些專利！到 Engadget 網站看有關專利的概要。這些專利包括：
- “Object-Oriented Event Notification System With Listener Registration Of Both Interests And Methods”
- “Method for providing automatic and dynamic translation of object oriented programming language-based message passing into operation system message passing using proxy objects”
- “Method and apparatus for distributing events in an operating system”
- “Message protocol for controlling a user interface from an inactive application program”
- “Unlocking A Device By Performing Gestures On An Unlock Image”
何等似層相識！這些描述中的軟體行為，有些是無數前人設計、大家持續改良的 design pattern。有些是「阿媽是女人」的在 touch screen 用手去解鎖電話。如果這些基本的東西都被人用專利控制，那世上只否只得那公司才可以用那 pattern 開發軟件、才可以售賣電話了？還是我以後使用某 design pattern 要先得到 Apple Inc. 的授權？為甚麼跨國的大企業也要做出如專利老鼠一樣的行為呢，可恥！
且看這場專利戰爭會怎樣打下去，如果 HTC 失敗了，最壞的情況是不能再在美國賣電話、付上巨額賠款、以及以後的電話以至其他科技產品將會失去很多大家習以為常的功能。這種未來是誰也不想看見的，誰可以救救這世界？
